Sell Gold Ring South Africa

Answer a few quick questions and we'll send you a quote via WhatsApp.

Step 1 of 8
How many rings are you selling?
What karat is the ring?
Approximate weight of the ring?
Not sure? A standard gold ring weighs between 3g and 10g. A thin wedding band is around 2–4g. A signet or chunky ring can be 8–15g. Weigh it on a kitchen scale if you can — we'll confirm precisely when we receive it.
What condition is the ring in?

We buy rings in ANY condition — broken, bent and missing stones all welcome.

Does the ring have any stones?

We only buy certified diamonds (GIA or IGI). Without a certificate, we buy the gold setting only.

About selling gold rings

Sell Gold Ring — What You Need to Know

Whether it's an old engagement ring, an inherited piece, or jewellery you simply no longer wear, has been helping South Africans turn unwanted gold rings into immediate cash since 1997. Our process is transparent, secure and fully confidential — no matter the ring's style, condition or history.

Ring types we accept

Engagement Rings

The most sentimental sale — handled with complete discretion. Plain bands, solitaires, halo designs, all welcome.

Wedding Bands

Plain gold, engraved, patterned. All widths and karats. Pairs or singles.

Signet Rings

Often heavier than they look. Engraving doesn't affect value. Very common in SA — we buy them all.

Eternity Rings

Set with certified diamonds or plain gold. Gold value and diamond value assessed separately.

Broken & Bent Rings

Broken shank, bent band, damaged setting — all welcome. The gold weight is what determines the payout.

Inherited Pieces

Estate rings from deceased estates or family pieces handled with full discretion and respect.

High Gold Prices Right Now

Gold is currently trading at near-record levels in Rand terms. There has never been a better time to unlock the value sitting in unworn jewellery.

Immediate EFT Payment

Once we receive and test your ring, payment is made immediately via EFT directly to your bank account. No waiting, no delays.

Broken Rings Welcome

Broken shank, bent band or missing stones — we buy rings in any condition. The gold value is what matters, not the appearance.

Estate and Inherited Jewellery

Many clients sell inherited rings they no longer wear. We handle these transactions with complete discretion and respect.

Nationwide Courier Service

Not in Pretoria? Our fully insured courier service lets you sell from anywhere in South Africa. WhatsApp or call us for packing and collection instructions.

XRF Verified — Fully Transparent

We use professional XRF testing to verify the karat on the spot and explain exactly how your ring's value is calculated before you decide.

Common Gold Ring Types & Typical Weights

The value of your ring depends primarily on its gold weight and karat. Here's a guide to the most common ring types and what they typically weigh:

Gold Karat Guide — What Your Ring Is Worth

The karat determines the percentage of pure gold in your ring. Higher karat means more gold and higher value per gram. Here's what each marking means and where to find it:

Common questions

Sell Gold Ring — FAQ

Yes. Engagement rings are one of the most common items we buy, and we handle every transaction with complete discretion. Whether it is a plain gold band, a solitaire with a GIA or IGI certificate, or an inherited piece, the gold setting is valued by weight and karat. If the diamond is certified, it adds to the overall offer.
You can sell the ring, but we can only purchase the gold setting without a valid GIA or IGI certificate. Uncertified diamonds cannot be bought. If you have a certificate, the diamond value is assessed separately and adds to your offer — it's worth looking for it before you contact us.
Look on the inside of the band — there will usually be a small stamped number. Common stamps: 375 (9ct), 585 (14ct), 750 (18ct), 916 (22ct), 999 (24ct). If there is no visible stamp, don't worry — we use professional XRF testing to verify the karat accurately at no cost to you.
Yes. A bent shank, broken setting or damaged ring does not reduce the gold value at all. We buy rings in any condition — the value is based entirely on the gold weight and karat, not the appearance or wearability of the piece.
Payment is immediate via EFT — directly to your bank account — the moment you accept our offer. For courier sales, we pay immediately after testing your ring on arrival. No waiting, no delays, every time.
